By Gary Meyer

A 19 year old female was airlifted from Lake of the Woods on Monday, May 21 to Kern Medical Center.

According to Kern County Fire Captain Kirk Kushen, the woman was having difficulty breathing and was transported by Hall Ambulance Service from a residence to the parking lot of the newly constructed El Camino Pines Church in Lake of the Woods where she was transferred to the waiting helicopter.

The new helicopter was put into service recently by Hall Ambulance, according to Hall Ambulance Director of Public-Media Relations Mark Corum. "It’s a Bell 407 with improved performance in high heat and high altitudes. We put it into service at the end of last week," Corum said. The woman’s name has been withheld.
