National Town Hall on Kids And Drugs Here Monday

By Kim Volkmar

Free pizza, films and the most important issues facing today’s kids are on the agenda Monday, April 14.

The organization now known as McCASA (Mountain Communities Coalition Against Substance Abuse), is holding their first community Town Hall meeting at Frazier Park School Cafeteria from 6 to 7 p.m. All are encouraged to attend. This is part of a national effort.

Local youth participating in MAT (the Methamphetamine Action Team) will present the films they produced and statistics on drugs and underage drinking. Special guest Dixie King (from Transforming Local Communities) will guide breakout participation groups.

Call Kim Volkmar at the Mountain Communities Family Resource (245-4303) or at 245-2877 for more information.

This is part of the April 11, 2008 online edition of The Mountain Enterprise.
